We are monitoring a bill in Congress that would make the deadline for all Employee Retention Credit (ERC) claims January 31st, 2024. Until there is further clarification on the progress of this bill, we are no longer accepting new applications. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at support@ercfulfillment.com

Healthcare Industries

  • Hospitals (Elective Surgeries): Hospitals were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. A significant financial impact was felt from the cancellation or delay of many elective surgeries. The American Hospital Association (AMA) reports that hospitals lost more than $50 billion in revenue nationwide in 2021 alone.
  • Nursing Care Facilities: Nursing homes and other assisted living centers can qualify for the ERC. A significant share of businesses and organizations in nursing care have already applied for and received their ERC benefits—but there are still gaps. If your nursing home/assisted living facility has not yet applied for the ERC, now is the time to act.
  • All Therapists (Speech, Eye, Vision, Physical, etc): All therapists nationwide can apply for ERC benefits. Social distancing requirements, capacity restrictions, cleaning and sanitizing standards, or a loss in revenue can support an ERC claim.
  • Home Healthcare Agencies: Home healthcare agencies were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing, canceled patient services, and cleaning/sanitizing standards can all independently make a home health company eligible for the ERC.
  • Dentists: A study cited in The Washington Post found that 30 percent of health-related appointments were canceled during the worst stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. An even higher share of dental appointments, especially routine cleanings, were postponed.
  • Chiropractors: Chiropractors can qualify for the ERC based on a partial government shutdown (social distancing, cleaning/sanitizing, etc) or a significant loss in revenue.
  • Medical Transportation: With a dramatic increase in telemedicine, the pandemic has had major ramifications for medical transportation. Medical transportation companies can file for the ERC if they suffered a loss in revenue or were subject to government restrictions. Every medical transportation company affected should claim ERC benefits.

It is important to note that any business or organization operating within the medical industry is eligible to apply for the Employee Retention Credit. In fact, nearly every employer that remitted employment taxes in 2020 and/or 2021 would most likely qualify to receive a tax refund.
